Alesco NIX3 – manual and user guide
The Alesco NIX3 is a mobile cooling unit built for the ACE12 induction heater. It removes the need for a tap water connection, which is what makes the ACE12 usable away from a workshop sink. This page covers the specifications, how the two units connect and what the annual check involves.

How the NIX3 and ACE12 work together
The ACE12 has no internal cooling and must be supplied with cooling water. The NIX3 provides it, at the correct flow rate and pressure – a minimum of 4 litres per minute, at a pressure below 3.5 bar / 50 psi.
The NIX3 also powers the ACE12 through itself, so only one 3 × 400 V AC + PE 16 A outlet is needed for both units. The ACE12 sits on top of the NIX3, and the two water connections are joined with the attached quick connectors. No installation is required – the unit arrives filled and ready.
The NIX3 supports the ACE12 at distances up to 25 metres, including 25 metres of height, which is what makes it practical for work on structures and at height.
Mobility
The NIX3 is designed to be moved and stored easily. It fits under a workbench to save floor space, and has swivel wheels and an ergonomic front handle.
Cooling fluid
The unit arrives filled with 18 litres of cooling fluid, a mix of more than 20 per cent propylene glycol and water. The ACE12 can run on either that mix or on tap water, but the glycol mix is recommended when the two units are used together.
Annual check
Run a visual check before every start and keep the unit clean. At least once every twelve months the NIX3 should be checked by a trained engineer with calibrated equipment, including an earth continuity test (PE) below 0.5 ohms and an insulation resistance test.
The visual checklist covers the power cable and both plugs, that all housing screws are present, the front and rear covers for cracks or damage, and the cooling fluid level.
If damage or deviation is found, do not use the NIX3 until it has been correctly serviced.
