Alesco ACE12 – manual and user guide
The Alesco ACE12 is a mobile three-phase induction heater with 12 kW output, used for heating metal parts on vehicles and industrial structures. Cooling – read this before you buy
The ACE12 has no internal cooling. It must be supplied with cooling water either from a tap or from a NIX3 cooling unit. A minimum flow of 4 litres per minute is required and the water pressure must not exceed 3.5 bar / 50 psi.
If you need to work away from a water supply, the NIX3 is the intended companion unit. It holds 20 litres, powers the ACE12 through itself so only one outlet is needed, and supports the machine at distances up to 25 metres.
Getting started
- When connected to power, the ON switch is illuminated.
- Press the ON switch. The ACE12 runs a short self-check and seven diodes light green from the left.
- Choose the power setting with the + and − buttons. There are ten steps.
- The machine is now ready and is activated by the start/stop switch on the transformer handle.
- Place the inductor on the surface to be heated and activate the switch.
- While the machine is heating, the diodes on the display flash.
Alarm indicators and fault codes

All alarms and errors also trigger an audible signal. The fault codes are printed on the product label as well as shown on the display.
Operating the machine
Place the heating tip flat against the workpiece, press and hold the ON/OFF button, and move the inductor around the surface being heated.
- Never hold the inductor still for more than a few seconds in the same place. It risks damaging both the workpiece and the inductor.
- Do not touch heated parts without first checking the temperature.
- The work area must be cleared of flammable materials and objects.
- No pacemakers and no implants near the machine while it is active.
- The operator must remove all metal objects – watches, rings, bracelets – before use.
Annual check
Run a visual check before every start, and have the machine checked at least once every twelve months. The annual check must be performed by a trained engineer with calibrated equipment and includes an earth continuity test (PE), which must read below 0.5 ohms, and an insulation resistance test.
The visual checklist covers the power cable and both plugs, the ACE12 inlet, that all housing screws are present, the front and rear covers for cracks, the front control panel, and the hose package with handle and control button.
If damage or deviation is found, do not use the ACE12 until it has been correctly serviced.
Safety
All major service and maintenance work must be carried out by Alesco service personnel. Never remove cover plates or work on the machine without disconnecting it from the mains. Disconnect before service, cleaning or maintenance.
Do not touch the inductor while it is activated – it emits a strong magnetic field and heat. Make sure fire extinguishing equipment is at hand. Loose cables and hoses are a tripping hazard.
Warranty
Alesco grants a 24-month warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in material and workmanship.

Does the ACE12 have internal cooling?
No. It requires either a tap water connection or a NIX3 cooling unit.
What water flow does the ACE12 need?

What does it mean when the second diode turns red?
